Bryce had a whole week at the local YMCA camp. The bus left at 7:45 in the morning and dropped him off at 4:30 in the afternoon. He had a great time! One of the great things about working at the Y is we get 50% off all programs, so summer camp was very affordable. He went with his buddy Mason and their highlights of the day included the bus ride, of course, where they both usually fell asleep on the way home, buying snacks from the store, and going swimming every day, which led to Bryce's poor nose getting so irritated and dried out he had what his counselor told me was the worst bloody nose they'd ever seen (but we're used to them around here).
Thursday night was family night, so we all trudged out to Iowa for dinner and a "show". The campers put on skits and Bryce found them all hilarious, just look at that face. Here he is sitting on the "invisible bench"...

...which Mason moved "over there last week" - and all the kids fell down.

We live in the Great Plains, but seeing this you'd never know it. The camp was nestled in the bluffs in Iowa and it was so beautiful - green rolling hills. The camp was really nice to - I was very impressed with their lodge, pool and stables. Here they're walking down from where they keep some of the farm animals.

Bryce wants to do beginning horseback riding next year.

A mom deer and two fawns wandered through camp while we were there - just one more cool thing about the YMCA camp!
